As many of you know, email integration for our mobile apps is in the works.  Also, in a previous hack we talked about how today you can use IQTELL’s Email Gateway to process email on the go.

Well, one of our users took this to another level!  This week’s hack is inspired by one of our users, Chacha (User Forum handle).  I thought it was a clever way to integrate IQTELL and IFTTT to work together.  IFTTT is a neat rules-engine that lets you build business rules which will trigger actions between apps.

The IFTTT Productivity APP Hack

Here’s Chacha’s example: as you read GMAIL on your mobile, IF you star an email THEN automatically create an IQTELL Action.  Using IFTTT, you can set up the rule that anytime an email in GMAIL is starred, automatically create an Action in IQTELL.  IFTTT will forward the email to your IQTELL Email Gateway automatically.

Hope you enjoyed this one!

P.S – To those using our Android or iOS apps, Productivity apps, be sure to check out the IQTELL Web appEverything is auto-synced between IQTELL’s apps.

Mmm doesn’t seem to work, just get a “Recipe Check Failed” message

Once the email is made into an action, is it possible to have ifttt also delete the email? Trying to figure out how to maintain inbox zero and not clutter Gmail with starred items.

We are releasing the EZ Email Processing feature this week. When used in IQTELL, you can do a number of steps with one click, E.g., create an action, set a reminder, and delete the email. This just one example. With this feature, we hope Inbox Zero will be attained much faster ;-)
