Have you heard about crowd sourcing?

If you are you looking for extraordinary ways to complete mundane tasks or improving your productivity in the long run, you should know that there are a lot of apps out there that can help you complete even the most tedious tasks faster with the power of the crowd.

We’d like to share with you our latest discoveries of apps and sites that help us be much more productive through the power of crowdsourcing.  Whether you are helping as part of the crowd or receiving the benefit of the crowd, it’s a win-win for everyone.

Disclaimer: Some of those apps and sites are pretty addictive.

1# Way to complete tasks – Writing a personal Bio

Like me, you probably hate writing personal bio pages, correct? Wouldn’t you rather other people who know you, love you and work with you do it for you? I know I would. helps you write a personal bio page by giving your friends tools to do it for you! Creating the page is pretty straight forward; you share your page with your Facebook friends, asking them to fill it with words that describe you best. The power of the social graph enables them to share their opinion on their timeline, inviting everyone they know to your page and exposing a really wonderful crowd sourced page that describes you better than you ever could.

It’s a much more credible way to create a bio page and if you disagree with someone’s assumption you can always delete it, so go ahead and try it!

2# Way to complete tasks – Learning a new language

App: Duolingo

If you’re looking for a productive way to learn another language before your flight to Paris or Barcelona, then you should try out Doulingo, a language-learning website and crowd sourced text translation platform that helps you learn a language for free while helping to translate the web.

Learning a language is one of those tasks that you never find the time to do, but with Doulingo you get to do it on a browser tab.  There’s an entire community that accompanies you while you’re learning, helping you translate websites and documents and it’s all free.

…leaving your mark on the web and helping others to learn a new language was never easier!

3# Way to complete tasks – Sleeping better at night and improving the next day’s productivity

App: Dream:on

A new study that uses a specially designed iPhone app called Dream:on attempts to improve the dreams of millions of people around the world. If successful, the study will allow people to create their perfect dreams and so wake up feeling especially happy and refreshed.

Although not really a crowed sourced app or a validated assumption for that matter, I can guaranty that by participating in this survey you’ll feel refreshed in the morning (who doesn’t like to go to sleep with music?) and you’ll contribute to a large experiment (which is kind of crowed sourcing your sleep) that is going to improve the quality of sleep and productivity levels of people all over the world.

The app monitors your sleep and plays a carefully crafted ‘soundscape’ when you dream to more easily lead to lucid dreaming, the kind of dream in which you know you’re dreaming, helping you to wake up cheerful and refreshed!

“Getting a good night’s sleep and having pleasant dreams boosts people’s productivity, and is essential for their psychological and physical wellbeing,” according to Professor Wiseman, the psychologist behind Dream:ON. “Despite this, we know very little about how to influence dreams. This experiment aims to change that.”

This concludes our three Crowd Sourced ways to complete tasks and have fun post! If you know of other apps that help you do things or influence you to do things more productively through crowed sourcing you are welcomed to share them with us in the comments section, thank you for reading!
