Before we start – we want to thank our Early Beta users whose invaluable feedback greatly contributed to this new release, Thank You! We have many features in the roadmap, and are looking for additional suggestions to make IQTELL “the best productivity app in the history of doing”!
This week, IQTELL went all Hollywood on us and had some major work done. This was, by far, our biggest release to date. Everything from minor changes to major features where packaged in. Here are a few of the highlights:
#1 Nice to Meet You – IQTELL’s Productivity application
The first thing you’ll notice is the new user interface we developed – finally! The new look and feel to IQTELL can be described in a single word: modern. We changed up the layout, color scheme and icons, increased the font size and spread everything out a little more to make IQTELL easier to navigate. Goodbye Windows 3.1. Hello Twenty First Century! #2 “User meets Calendar”
We’re proud to introduce your brand new calendar! Integrated into the system like any other app, you can easily create a calendar event on its own or from any other IQTELL app – Tasks, Notes, Files, even bookmarks! You can view your upcoming events right from the Dashboard. Or, you can open the calendar and browse the coming weeks and months to find the perfect time to schedule that doctor’s appointment.
Similar to the Outlook and Google calendars (but better ;-)), you can separate your events into different, color-coded categories. With the ability to turn categories on and off, you can easily see which events are related to work, school or are of a personal nature. And since these categories are completely customizable, you can personalize your calendar as you see fit.
Integrated into the calendar is the ability to create recurring events. For example, you can add your brother’s birthday to your calendar and make it an annually recurring event. But, they don’t need to be annual events – keep track of your weekly class schedule and which days of the week your recycling is picked up. Each event can have a reminder as well, which is especially handy for those of us who are perennially late for appointments. (Special thanks to Harry!)
#3 It’s Your Workspace – Customize Away
Many of you asked to add/change/hide your apps. Instead of relying on us, the power is in your hands. We’ve added additional customization options to both the Workspace and the Dashboard. For your Workspace, you can now decide which apps are visible and which ones are hidden. Simply click the options icon next to “My Workspace” to set which apps are visible and in what order they appear.
The Applications Panel on your Dashboard has also seen an upgrade. Clicking the options icon here allows you to determine which apps are displayed in the panel. The new “EZ Links” panel is similarly customizable. Clicking the options icon there lets you add, remove or edit the links in the panel. (Special thanks to Dan!)
#4 Easy Bar
The newly-added Easy Bar can be found at the top right of your screen. This bar gives you the ability to instantly add a Task or a Note to your Workspace. This is a great way to add one or more items very quickly, all the while leaving you the option to go back later and fill in the details. (Special thanks to Asher!)
